Thomas finished the race, used to raise funds for purchasing life-saving dialysis machines, in 16.21 minutes, with Martin doing 22.35 minutes.
Kemar Leslie of Rainforest Seafoods, who won in 2017, finished the men’s event second, like he did last year, in 16.51 minutes, with Kosiani Dunkley of Riot Squad getting third in 17.35.

In the women’s race, Martin retained the title she won last year to finish ahead of teammate Alison Sutherland, who did 24.07 minutes with Ingrid Blackwood of UCT Steppas third in 24.29.
The 13-and-younger male category was won by Brandon Davis in 24:27 with Dai’Anna Brown leading the females in 28.41. The largest corporate group of finishers went to Derrimon Traders and the top-performing team was Rainforest Seafoods.
According to Thomas, he used the race to help himself get ready for tougher assignments, as he expects to compete in overseas events later in the year.
