Howard University dental students (from left) Hilary Thomas, Justin James, and Taylor Jackson, members of a one-week medical mission to Jamaica, work on a patient during their visit to The Good Samaritan Inn in Kingston recently, to provide free dental care to people in need.

Led by Dr. Reginald Salter, assistant professor of comprehensive dentistry at Howard, the mission, which brought its own equipment to Jamaica, includes 17 dentists and students who have been assisting over 300 patients at Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Good Samaritan Inn, and Hiram Walters Clinic in Spanish Town.
A total of 100 patients, including children, were registered at Good Samaritan Inn to be treated. Many of them were receiving professional dental care for the first time. Good Samaritan Inn is operated by the East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and members of the Adventist- laypersons Services and Industries. It was developed to assist needy persons in Kingston.
