Good Samaritan Inn is 7 Years Old

Posted on Dec 22 2014

From its humble beginnings serving 50 lunches to the homeless and needy on Sunday December 23, 2017, the Good Samaritan Inn (GSI) has grown to be an internationally recognized institution.

Over the 7 years, the GSI has served in excess of 50,000 lunches, and provided sanitary and laundry facilities for the homeless, administered health care to hundreds and a home to many.

On December 23, 2014, the 7th Anniversary, the Inn was a beneficiary of two (2) generous cheques. The first from the Andrews Memorial SDA Church. Pastor of the Andrews Church, Samuel Lewis, presented to the Conference President, Dr. Eric Nathan, a cheque for J$100,000.00 which represented proceeds from the Church's staging of the 2014 Annual Good Samaritan Walk-Run in August of this year.

The second cheque for US$ 550.00 came from the Jambra Chorale, a group of Jamaicans living in the Cayman Brac.

The biggest birthday gift is yet to come. This will be a portion of the 13th Sabbath Quarter's offering from the World Church.  This offering will go towards the construction of a Medical/ Dental Clinic and the provision of a Dental suite, especially for the use of children.
